"I
say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to
promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord." 1
Corinthians 7:35
The
apostles fully expected ordinary believers to live with an extraordinary
devotion to Christ. This was not the norm solely for preachers, pastors and
full-time gospel workers, but for every single disciple of Jesus. Why did the
apostles have this astounding expectation and how does it work practically even
in our day and age?
