“When he has brought out all
his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his
voice.” Jn. 10:4
The
day a true disciple realises that he has already received everything in Christ
that he will ever need in this life or the next, is the day everything
changes. Henceforth no manipulation or intimidation can keep you chained
to man-made religious systems. No threat or bribe can hold you back
anymore. No guilt trip or condemnation aimed at your heart by
unenlightened religious people can henceforth keep you cloistered within the
confines of an ambitious leadership's individualistic vision and agenda.
No humanistic sweet-talk or clever psychological mind-game can fool you or
persuade you to compromise anymore. No amount of religious bullying can
scare you sufficiently to lure you back under man’s oppressive yoke. From
that day forward you follow Jesus alone in the freedom of the children of God,
to serve Him with other disciples who only want to be under His yoke. The
vision and agenda of Jesus Himself is now your only passion. This is a
passion you share with other disciples who have seen the all-sufficiency of
Jesus, in loving submission to one another under the Headship of Christ (Eph.
5:20-21).
"For freedom Christ has set us
free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of
slavery." Gal. 5:1
"Nevertheless, many even of the authorities
believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that
they would not be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory that
comes from man more than the glory that comes from God." Jn.
12:42-43
"For my yoke is easy,
and my burden is light." Mt. 11:30
