I have never met someone who does not believe in family in
their heart of hearts. It is arguably the most unfailing common denominator in
the hearts of people all across the planet. We spend thousands of hours and
huge amounts of energy and money over many years on our families and
friendships to build relationship and somehow secure a lasting and meaningful
rapport that will withstand the ups and downs of circumstances and the
unpredictability of human emotion. Why then do we at times argue so vehemently
against a hope that stretches beyond this short and often unsatisfying life?
The very existence of the saying "hope springs eternal" proves that
the human heart longs for a place of uninterrupted security and bliss in
relationships. That place exists and there was a Man on a cross who procured it
for all who are willing to honestly face this universal inward desire as well
as the evil propensity to deny it and reach out with the hand of faith to
receive the gift of eternal life. Why wait? John 3:16....
